• History

GAP International Pipeline Projects BV (GAP IPP) was founded in 1992 by Gerard (G.A.P.) de Boer. Gerard de Boer has been working in the pipeline industry since 1970 with projects in the Netherlands, Yugoslavia (today Slovenia), Argentina, Algeria and Germany.

Gerard gained his first experience with bolt tensioning in the early 1980s, during the construction of a large pipeline in Argentina. Because the need for this application in the Netherlands grew over the years, he founded GAP IPP. In 2009 his eldest son Gerhardi was appointed director. Gerhardi has been closely involved since its foundation. He first completed his HTS Mechanical Engineering training and then completed the Welding Practice Engineer (IWE) training. He then took on the day-to-day management of GAP IPP.

Now, after almost 30 years since its foundation, GAP IPP tightens (and loosens) many flange and bolt connections in the Netherlands and surrounding countries using bolt tensioning and torque. With years of experience and accumulated knowledge, we have developed a vision with regard to fastening and retaining bolt and flange connections. We stand for knowledge, craftsmanship, quality and safety.

The latest development is the opening of our new region office in Steenbergen (2020). With this 2nd location we want to expand our services in the region Botlek/Europoort/Maasvlakte – Zeeland – Antwerp.
